About Teesside Decorators
Teesside homeowners, landlords and businesses get competitive, written quotes for decorating here, free and in writing. Every quote should name the preparation, the products and the number of coats, because in this trade the invisible half of the work is what decides how the visible half looks in three years.
Decorating is the easiest trade to quote badly. Two prices can both say "lounge, walls and ceiling, £320" and describe completely different jobs: one with the cracks filled, the caulk run, the wall sanded flat and two full coats of a decent emulsion over a mist coat, the other with a roller straight onto whatever is already there. Both look fine on the Friday. Only one still looks fine the following winter. This site exists to push every quote towards the first version, so you are comparing work rather than guessing.
How it works
Tell us about the rooms: what needs decorating, the property, and your postcode. The enquiry goes to one independent local painter and decorator covering your area, who looks at the job properly and puts a written price together. Interior painting, exterior work, wallpapering, woodwork and trim, kitchen cabinet spraying and commercial decorating all follow the same standard.
The standards we hold quotes to
- Preparation itemised: filling, sanding, caulking and stain blocking written into the quote rather than assumed or quietly skipped.
- Products named: the brand, product and finish for each surface, so you know whether you are buying contract emulsion or something that will still wipe clean in five years.
- Coats stated: a mist coat on bare plaster then two full coats as standard, with a third priced in where a strong colour change demands it.
- Protection included: dust sheets, carpet film, masking and furniture moved and covered, all part of the price.
- A realistic programme: days on site, drying times respected, and a straight answer about living in the house while it happens.
- A snag walk at the end: a walk round together, touch-ups done, waste taken away, before final payment.
Who runs it
The site is run by 360 Media Works Ltd, a Teesside company founded by Simon Hogben, from Varsity House on the Preston Farm estate in Stockton-on-Tees. The guides are written to be useful whether or not you ever request a quote here, which is why they include real figures, honest repaint intervals and the awkward questions a sales page would skip.
